YOU’RE INVITED – Learning Tuesday
OPG has invited the Rotary Club of Northumberland Sunrise to attend a ‘discovery tour’ and presentation of the planning currently underway for the Wesleyville Nuclear Site.
Based on my limited knowledge, I understand the project is massive and will have a significant impact on our community.
WHAT: Ontario Power Generation’s Wesleyville Nuclear Site – Presentation
WHERE: Port Hope Nuclear Discovery Centre, 115 Toronto Road, Port Hope
WHEN: March 24, 2026 @ 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Background: On January 15, 2025, Minister Lecce announced that the Province is moving forward with the nation-building nuclear project, which will create over 10,000 Canadian jobs, and add $235 billion to GDP, with over 90% of project spending staying in Ontario and Canada.
OPG has been actively engaging with residents, stakeholders, Rightsholders, and the public about the potential for new nuclear generation at the Wesleyville site. And in 2025, OPG opened the Discovery Centre as a venue for community members and Indigenous Nations to access up-to-date information, participate in activities, and share their feedback.
Hope you can make it!
