About Lyn: With three decades of progressive experience in the fundraising sector, Lyn currently serves as Director of Fund Development at Five Counties Children’s Centre, where she is dedicated to building strong, values-driven partnerships to deliver meaningful and lasting impact for children and families throughout Northumberland County, Peterborough County, the City of Kawartha Lakes, Haliburton, and Minden. Lyn’s career began in the 1990s in arts management, including senior roles at art galleries and museums where she honed her expertise in fundraising and development. In 1998, she relocated to Peterborough and took on her first full-time fundraising position with United Way, marking a pivotal step in her professional journey. Since then, Lyn has contributed her skills and leadership to a range of charitable and educational organizations. She developed the annual fundraising program and played a key role in the YWCA’s Safe Haven Shelter campaign, supported annual and capital campaigns for the Peterborough Humane Society, and helped secure vital funding for student support initiatives while working in the Advancement Office at Fleming College. In her current role at Five Counties Children’s Centre, Lyn is committed to empowering children to achieve their fullest potential. Inspired by her parents’ lifelong commitment to volunteerism - her father being a dedicated and life long Rotarian - Lyn developed a deep appreciation for community service and philanthropy from a young age. Her professional and personal values reflect this legacy, as she actively serves as an executive team member of the Peterborough Planning Estate Council, is a Past President and current member of the Peterborough Area Fundraisers Network, a member of the Rotary Club of Peterborough, and a board member of the Peterborough Folk Festival. Lyn’s guiding principle is to leave every endeavour and community she serves better than she found it, consistently striving to create positive change and foster strong, supportive networks for those in need.
